Zipcar Fees & Fines

In addition to the cost of Zipcar membership and driving rates, other fees and fines may apply. See below for details.

Mileage Fee
Every reservation comes with 60 miles included per 24-hour period. If you drive over 60 miles, a charge of £0.29 per extra mile will be charged. Pay-Per-Mile cars do not include free miles.
Key Replacement Fee
If you lose the key, the initial replacement fee is £150 plus costs for materials and labour.
Booking Change or Cancellation Fee
There is no charge if you cancel or shorten your reservation within the required advanced notice. However, you will be charged the full amount for your reservation if you do not give the required advanced notice. For further information on this policy, please click here.
Tickets/Violation Processing Fee
You are responsible for paying any parking tickets and moving violations incurred during your reservation. If we receive a notice and process a violation, you will be charged a £15 processing fee in addition to the fine itself.
Damage Fee
Up to £1,000 to cover the costs related to an accident. Members aged 25+ may qualify to purchase a damage waiver fee to reduce or eliminate your damage fee. Click here for further information.
Cleaning & Other Violation Fee
£35 per violation, plus costs incurred by Zipcar anytime a visit to the vehicle is required (including cleaning costs due to smoking or pets in the vehicle).
Late Return Fee
£35 per hour (up to a maximum of £105), plus the vehicle usage charges (read more about the importance of returning on time here).
Low Fuel Fee
£35 if you return a vehicle with less than ¼ tank of fuel.
