What are backup payment methods?

The backup payment method is a feature that allows Zipcar to automatically charge another payment method if your default payment method fails or is declined. This ensures that you can continue to use Zipcar services even if there are issues with your default payment method.

How to enable or disable backup payments on the Zipcar Mobile App:

  1. Click on the Wallet tab in your Account Settings
  2. At the bottom of your wallet you will see a toggle for Backup Payments
  3. If the toggle button is green, Backup Payments is enabled. If the toggle button is grey, Backup Payments is disabled
  4. Adjust the toggle to enable or disable Backup Payments
