Avios Partnership Closure

Our partnership with Avios will officially end on 30th June 2025. After this date, you’ll no longer be able to join or collect Avios points through Zipcar.

We know this has been a valued benefit for many members, so we’ve answered some common questions below to help explain what’s changing and what you need to know.

Why is Zipcar ending the Avios partnership?
The partnership was launched nearly a decade ago and is no longer commercially viable. As a result, we’ve made the decision to close it.
Can I keep the Avios points I've already earned?
Yes – any Avios points you’ve collected will remain valid, in line with Avios’ standard terms and conditions.
When is the last day I can collect Avios points through Zipcar?
The final day to earn Avios points on Zipcar trips is 30th June 2025.
I haven’t received Avios points for bookings made between [X] and [Y]. Can I still get them?
Yes – as long as your trips took place within the eligible campaign period, we’ll request that those points be added to your Avios account.
I  previously received an email from Zipcar saying points could be backdated once the new system was live. Can I still request this?
Yes – if your trips fall within the valid campaign range, we’ll still request for your points to be added accordingly.
What other rewards or benefits do you offer?

We’re always looking for new ways to thank and reward our members. While we’re retiring the Avios programme, we’re currently working on new loyalty plans – stay tuned for more details.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for seasonal promotions, offers, and competitions we run throughout the year.

I joined Zipcar because of the Avios partnership. Can I cancel my membership?

We’d be sorry to see you go – but yes, you’re free to cancel your membership at any time.

If you’re on a Smart or Plus plan: You’re welcome to switch to our free Basic Plan instead.

If you’re on a Business plan: If on Business: We do have other Business plans which might be of interest to you... or we could swap you to a consumer Basic plan.
