Dedicated Roundtrip charging stations in Hackney

We’ve teamed up with Zest and Hackney Council to introduce 15 new round trip bays with their own dedicated charging station! So what do you need to know?

How will I know if my car will have a dedicated charging station?

To make it easy to spot we’ve added a 2342.png symbol to the location name, and if that location does have a dedicated charging station it’ll link you right to this page for further instructions.

Are you supplying charging cables?

Yep! All vehicles with a dedicated charging station will have a charging cable tethered to the vehicle in the boot. The charging port is located on the rear passenger side of the vehicle, so we’d suggest making sure you park with that end closest to the charging station. What do I do when I’m ready to end my trip?

To help other members of the Zipcar community all you need to do is plug the vehicle in at the end of your trip, activate the charge post and lock the car as normal from the app so its ready for the next user to start their adventure.

How do I charge the vehicle?

Attached to the vehicle key you’ll find a small fob, once you’ve plugged the cable in connecting the charging station to the vehicle you just need to tap the fob on the RFID symbol on the charge post and the vehicle will start to charge.

Which cars will be able to use the charging station?

Only the Zipcar that lives at that location. If you return at the end of your journey to find someone else parked there please give our team a call who will help guide you to an alternate parking spot.

Do I have to bring the vehicle back with a minimum amount of charge?

As with our other Round Trip electric vehicle’s you need to bring the vehicle back with a minimum of 30% charge, and plug it in at the end to charge the vehicle.

Do I need to pay for the charge?

Nope! Charging is on us! Just use the fob to start charging.

Am I eligible for the charging incentive?

Any trips from these locations will not be eligible for the charging incentive.
