No, a Zipcard is not needed as all of our UK Zipcars have Bluetooth® technology. This technology allows your mobile phone to lock, unlock, as well as start and end trips on all UK Zipcars from the iPhone® or Android™ app.
Sustainability is at the heart of our mission, and we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact. As part of this, we’ve phased out physical Zipcards to minimise plastic use. The app is now the sole way to access our vehicles, which no longer have card readers installed.
